Tom is smoking there.
②ボブさんはお皿(さら)を洗(あら)っています。
Bob is washing the dishes.
③学生(がくせい)は日本語(にほんご)を勉強(べんきょう)しています。
Students are studying Japanese.
【Meaning】 ～ing (progressive)
①ここに座(すわ)ってもいいですか。
May I sit here?
②明日(あした)、休(やす)んでもいいですか。
Is it okay to take a rest tomorrow?
③荷物(にもつ)をここに置(お)いてもいいですか。
May I put my luggage here?
【Meaning】 May I ~？ (asking permission)

①野菜(やさい)を切(き)ってください。

【Meaning】 please~ (giving instruction)
Vてから～
①仕事(しごと)が終(お)わってから、ジムへ行(い)きます。
I will go to the gym after my work is finished.
②宿題(しゅくだい)を出(だ)してから、帰(かえ)ってください。
Please submit your homework before you go home.
③手(て)を洗(あら)ってから、ごはんを食(た)べます。
You can have a meal after washing your hands.
